BIG LEAGUE'S POWER RANKINGS
SPONSORED BY: PIT BULL ENERGY BAR

1. TRUE BLUE SIGMAS
The featured game of the week TRUE BLUE SIGMAS vs DESERT QUE...Well, it was originally thought to be the FEATURED GAME OF THE WEEK....The True Blue Sigmas decided to make it just another EASY "ride-down-victory-lane". Todd "Mr. MVP" Wilson had a modest first half of play but decided to "pour it on" in the second half by scoring 14 of his game high 18 points in the half. Coach Tay play calling and pressure defense allowed 10 out of 11 players to record scores in the game. True Blue remain in the No. 1 power ranking position.
2. THE GORILLAS
The Gorillas appear to be FOR REAL this season; Week One Co-MVP Tedric Williams confirmed on Frat Games Radio, this Gorilla team is in game shape and will be ready to play each week. Chuck Nixon had a game high 20 points with Tedric Williams chipping in a quiet 16 points. Gorillas dressed 7 players (for the Jewels) and all 7 players contributed "buckets" in the score book. The Gorillas out scored the Iotas 38 to 24 at the half only to later add another 37 to 17 effort to conclude the game. Appears there are "Gorillas in the Mist" this season. The Gorillas remain No. 2 in the power rankings this week.
3. THE DESERT QUES
*Cue George Clinton's Atomic Dog now* THE QUUUUUUEEEESSSSS! The Desert Ques made a game of it in the first half trailing 23 to 26 to the Sigma's True Blue squad. *Kill the Music* Then the party was crashed. The Ques was out scored by 10 in the second have despite a monster scoring effort by #21 Omotosho. Omotosho scored 13 of his team high 17 in the second half. Ernie "I Get Buckets" Burries was the next leading scorer with 9 points. Just as they did in Week One, the Qs enjoyed a free throw edge by going to the charity Stripe 16 times compared to the True Blue squads 8 trips. Coach Diff said the loss could be contributed to various reasons but the bottom line [we] lost but will bounce back next week. The Qs fall in the rankings to No. 5. They face a dangerous "trap game" next week against the Iotas.
4. THE ALPHAS
The Alphas enjoyed a 17 to 16 lead at the half. Darnell "DPo" Porter led all scores with 20pts, with 12 points coming from long range. In the second half, it is rumored THE Alphas screamed "pressed these dudes....they can't dribble". The observation proved to be correct cause we witnessed "turnover-after-turnover-after-turnover". THE Alphas dominated the second half by 17 points. It must be noted...the crowed began chanting "EJ - EJ - EJ - EJ - EJ"....Eric "EJ" Johnson trotted to the scorers table and made quick work of the Nupe team with an "up fake" and score from the right elbow on the court. EJ trotted back to the bench, got into a victory lean and screamed to the crowd...."Is this what Y'all want!?" THE Alphas remain at No. 4 this week in the rankings.
5. THE KAPPAS
It was fashion week at the frat games, well at least it appeared to be with the Kappa team unveiling brand new informs this week. The fresh uniform must have inspired the big men on the team to play BIG. #0, Mollen put on a big man clinic yesterday; multiple posts moves and offensive rebounds galore. The guard play was not to be out shined with Jeff "Mr. Everything" Dolliole being the week's high scorer 22 points. The Kappas Albert Jones also contributed with 9 points. The Kappas jump to positions in the rankings this week No.3. Can they ride the way in to the civil war game against the NUPEs?
6. NUPES
Shimmy this...If a team shows up with a second set of jerseys in the same number of weeks; you would expect ball players to hit the floor. Clearly, expectation does not reflect reality. The NUPEs are comprised of "Guard" size players but not one seem to be able to dribble this week. THE Alphas implemented a pressure defense and forced turnovers and scoring barrages in the second half of the game. Their guards looked dazed and confused, as if pressure defense was against league rules....I am pleased to report....its legal. The NUPEs actually moved up the rankings purely on their league record and nothing else. They are ranked No. 6.
7. GOMAB
GOMAB showed with brand new jerseys and played an outstanding game in the first half. The team was led by #11, Johnson with 19 points. #8, Fowler had an impressive 8 points, and two other players had seven points. The second half proved to be to much for the GOMAB team as they were bested by seven points by the LA Kappas. GOMAB's #5, Kenneth Mosley was a non-factor this week scoring only a lone 3-pointer in the second half. Week three will not be kind to the GOMAB squad since they will play the #1 Ranked TRUE BLUE SIGMAS. GOMAB dropped to No.7 in the rankings this week.
8. The IOTAS
The Iotas joined the NUPEs, and Kappas in fashion week. The Iotas came out in some NICE!!!! UNIFORMS and suited 10 players. They had all the makings of a great game in the 5:30 slot this week. The only problem....they faced one of the best team in the league in the Gorillas. This match up proved to be far to much for the young Iota team. Despite a 20 point effort by #7, Coulter and another 12 points by #33 Grays the Iotas lost ground in the first half and continued to slip in the second half. Next week the Iotas draw the Desert Ques whom I am sure will be determine to rebound after losing to the True Blue Sigmas but the Iotas pride themselves on determination and energy as well so this should be an outstanding match-up. The Iotas remain the 8th rank team this week.
